Position Description/Qualifications


Lineman

The Lineman is responsible for the installation, maintenance, alteration and repair of overhead and underground electrical lines, electric substations, and related electrical equipment.

Primary Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions:

  • Installs, maintains, alters and repairs overhead and underground electrical lines
  • Constructs, maintains, repairs all equipment related to the electrical distribution system
  • Maintains electrical substations including maintaining breakers, regulators and switches
  • Installs transformers and switches to provide commercial and residential electrical services including temporary services
  • Drives and operates bucket trucks, line trucks, and various digging equipment
  • Performs various electrical system maintenance tasks
  • Responds to trouble calls related to power outages, accidents, fires and weather conditions
  • Remains on call to reconnect electrical services
  • Installs and maintains streetlights, including overhead and underground lighting and residential and commercial security lights
  • Installs meters for permanent and temporary services
  • Prepares accident reports as needed
  • Checks equipment daily to ensure it is working properly and efficiently to ensure longevity

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 2-3 years prior experience, including 3 year Electric Cities Apprentice Program and ITS classes or equivalent
  • Completion of MEAG Power Substation Lowside and ITS
  • Qualified Operator Training Course within 6 months
  • Knowledge of electrical construction, maintenance and repair practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of safety procedures of the electric trade
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to use various tools and equipment such as chippers, chainsaws, backhoes, diggers, trenchers, bucket trucks and derrick trucks
  • Able to read, write and perform mathematical calculations
  • Hold a valid Georgia CDL license, or ability to attain within 6 months
  • Has the ability to distinguish shades of color
  • Knowledge of climbing utility poles
  • Must perform “standby”
  • Must live within 20 minutes of the Newnan Utilities Warehouse

Working Conditions:

  • Work may require occasional weekend and evening work and inclement weather
  • Ability to perform moderate physical work including lifting heavy objects, climbing poles, using tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
  • Ability to perform such activities as bending, kneeling stooping and sitting
  • Understands the use of all related safety equipment

Bi-lingual Customer Service Representative

This position is responsible for assisting customers in establishing, transferring and disconnecting services as requested. He/she processes service orders and billing inquiries in addition to processing calls for collection and nonpayment on accounts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding service to all customers, vendors and team
  • Ability to act as a cashier
  • Process incoming and outgoing calls and correspondence
  • Assist customers with billing inquires
  • Assist customers in setting up new accounts
  • Check credit to determine if deposits are necessary
  • Collecting on delinquent account and disconnects
  • Provide assistance with company events as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Part Time Park Attendant

This position is responsible for ensuring that the park is well kept and visitors have an enjoyable experience. This position is part-time and not eligible for company benefits.

Qualifications:

  • Effective oral communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, maintenance instructions and manuals
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations

Primary Responsibilities & Working Conditions:

  • Greet and welcome park visitors
  • Assist visitors in transporting picnic supplies to pavilion and grill areas
  • Ensure the park is maintained by removing debris and trash
  • Maintenance work such as pressure washing, painting and landscaping
  • Able to perform daily water analysis of splash pad
  • Ability to perform moderate physical work, including heavy lifting, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching and using tools
  • Outdoor work exposed to dust, dirt, mud, possible inclement weather, insects and animals
  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays
